No9 Bridge Blues 5 bag styles by Debra Cortese Designs

If you’ve been following me over the years, you may remember my nature design bags. Ideally, you already own one or more of them!
As of November 2018, I’m reviving a few of my favorite fall and winter designs and will be creating seasonal, limited editions of new designs.

I’m including just a few images of the Fall – Winter collection below with links to each for size, materials and price info. Each bag is currently produced one at a time as your order is confirmed.
Here’s the link to see the full Fall and Winter collection. Each design is available on all 5 bag styles so, you’ll have a few decisions to make to get just the right bag for yourself or to give as gifts.

If you have any questions and especially if you have a favorite plant or flower that you would like to have created into a custom design, you can CONTACT ME HERE.

Wishing you the best during the busy holiday season and a joyful year ahead!

Pine and oak trees overlooking the Delaware River inspire nature patterns for clothing, home decor and tech products

Original photo of the pine and oak trees that inspired Debra’s new bark patterns

My studio view overlooks these magnificent trees and the Delaware River in Narrowsburg NY. The visiting buck was a big photo bonus! - ©2013 Debra Cortese photo

Both the pine and oak bark patterns that are featured on clothing and home decor products were inspired by my love and curiosity for the variety of textures and colors of my surroundings. The models for this new design were actually the mature pine tree, the tall one behind the canoe in the landscape photo, and the hand-holding couple of oak trees that stand like guardians on the bank of the Delaware River just outside my studio window.

The trees and the surrounding plants (along with my gardens) serve as hosts to many creatures depending upon the time of year. In spring and summer, this particular pine tree is often inhabited by a hive of honeybees. They return each year to a long, narrow crevasse in the tree’s west side. I haven’t yet tasted their honey but am quite certain a visiting bear delights in his visits to this tree!

The colors and textures of the bark on this glorious pine tree were best captured with macro photography which I intently reviewed to select a most appealing detail section for the pine bark pattern. I’ve added images of several of the most popular ‘Pine Bark” products that are available from my Society6 shop.

I hope you enjoy the texture and colors of my tree bark designs. I certainly enjoyed creating them!

Sammy cat ‘models’ for Taurus Giveaways

Cat models for Taurus Giveaways by Debra CorteseMy cats are great when it comes to posing for product photos and they are always eager to pose if treats are involved. Pretty sure Sammy Cat had just consumed his first round of treats and is looking for more in this photo.
I realize his ability to focus and stay in one place is limited to at most, 2 minutes, so have to shoot quickly and be content with the best photo out of the 3 or 4 good ones. This is definitely a fun part of my work and the cats usually love the extra attention.

Info for Gift Guides – Trend setting Bags for Nature Lovers

Cortese Design bags are more than fashionable, they can energize you! Designer, Debra Cortese says, “When you carry one of my Nature’s Energy Design bags, and consciously tune in to the vibration of the plant that is at the core of the design, you can virtually ‘feel’ the positive, magical energy of nature.” She explains that every element of nature emits a unique vibration or energy field. When you are in nature and truly focusing your attention of a flower, (how the light plays on the petals, the gentle swaying in a breeze, the interaction of a tiny, hovering bee coating his little bee legs in pollen) you’re able to connect with the vibration of that flower, that bee, and that moment in time. This is an excellent, natural way to enhance, stimulate or soothe your own energy.

The Design Process

Cortese Designs are a visual transference of Nature’s Energy. Debra tells us “The design for each bag is intentionally created to share the energy that I experience when I am tuning in to a particular plant or flower. I begin by photgraphing a plant that is emitting positive vibrations. (Poison Ivy would not be a plant I’d choose for sharing any energy!) Next, I choose one of the photos that visually shares the strongest sense of that energy and use it as the basis for my design. I then go into the flow of the creative process, and using a range of digital painting tools and a sequence of custom techniques, I work the image until I achieve a visual presentation that most effectively transfers the vibrational energy of that plant, flower, creature or environment.”

Cortese Design Bags are available online at: www.debracortese.com, and at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables, Florida where they sell an exclusive, custom designed line of Cortese bags.

Custom Designs for Businesses, Organizations, Fundraisers
Debra’s focus is on growing the Cortese line with additional fashion and home decor products and through licensing her designs with businesses and organizations that share a vision to increase awareness of our magical environment. She enjoys creating custom designs and collaborating on projects that promote positive, joyful vibrations in the world, and is particularly fond of projects that benefit the environment, animals and children.
