After the storm…
On Tuesday, May 15th, my beloved Pine, a summer hive for wild honeybees, and one of the two majestic Oak trees that I photograph almost daily, were snapped and hurled into the air and through my living room window and roof, terrifying me and my four precious cats. The broken trees came through the window in a matter of seconds and thankfully, I had already made it to the kitchen and out of their deadly path. Very happy to be alive and sharing these images. Now.. the cleanup and rebuilding begins. I’m guessing it will be at the least two months before I will be able to be living and working again in my very powerful and beautiful place along the banks of the Delaware River.

Dandelion with oil textures
Dandelion with energy effects
Dandelion with paint daubs texture
After my short bout with Cabin Fever, I got myself right back to work on a few designs for Spring and chose a dandelion photo to work with. I created three different effects from the same photo. Each one a variation of “Dandelion Seeds Ready To Fly Away!
One with an oil paint filter, one with an ‘energy’ effect, and one in paint daubs which is a favorite photoshop filter for me.
Each version is now available as an open edition fine art print on paper or canvas and each design is also available
on totebags, journals, pillows, phone cases and more from my Society 6 shop.

On Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1 to 4 pm I’ll present my playful, powerful and compelling, “Seeds of Intention” workshop at MISSING PIECES, 959 Main Street, in Honesdale, PA as part of the ongoing cultural events of the Wayne County Arts Alliance.
This workshop combines the therapeutic benefits of music, meditation and coloring within the transformational patterns of the universal Flower of Life. I’ll be guiding each participant through a series of playful exercises designed to help you clarify a specific personal or career goal.
Once you are clear on what you choose to manifest, you can embed the patterns of already having achieved your goal by intuitively coloring its energetic code within a Flower of Life template.
This hand-colored, unique work of art then becomes your ‘Seed of Intention’, a personal meditation mandala which you will use daily to reinforce the energetic flow and manifestation of your goal.

My cats are great when it comes to posing for product photos and they are always eager to pose if treats are involved. Pretty sure Sammy Cat had just consumed his first round of treats and is looking for more in this photo.
I realize his ability to focus and stay in one place is limited to at most, 2 minutes, so have to shoot quickly and be content with the best photo out of the 3 or 4 good ones. This is definitely a fun part of my work and the cats usually love the extra attention.

Looked out over the Delware River to the perch tree about 8:30 this morning and saw this golden glow on a Red-Shouldered Hawk that was surveying the Big Eddy landscape. Never cease to be amazed and inspired by my surroundings… by nature!
– Debra
This gorgeous bird of prey was glowing in the morning sun on the popular eagle perch high above the Delaware River. Apparently surveying the Big Eddy for breakfast options. I am so blessed to have this daily view. Took the photos still in my cozy zebra robe and before first cup of coffee because I know too well that a photo opp like this can be gone in seconds.
Hope you enjoy this bit of my morning wildlife inspiration. And here’s the article where I learned a bit more about Red-Shouldered Hawks: http://www.conservewildlifenj.org/species/spotlight/redshouldered/
Two more photos – a bit blurry, but remember, no coffee, still in wakeup mode and the hawk is flying off the branch…
