Happy Holidays and Wishes for Peace, Success and Joy in the coming year!
Since shelter pets (lost, abandoned, abused, orphaned furry, finned, feathered and scaly ones…did I miss any?)
are always on my mind, I’m hoping you will not only download a copy of this calendar, but share it with your family and friends as well.
Each month features a different Calendar Dog, real pets that have found new homes through Miami-Dade Animal Services Adopt A Shelter Pet program, PLUS each page also has a ‘dog tip’ or info for new or even long-time pet owners.
Just click (or double click) on this link, or on the image of HAPPY below to download the high res (3mb) printable pdf version of my 2010 Adopt A Shelter Dog Calendar.
NOTE: this is a 3 mb pdf file. Depending on your connection speed it may take a few minutes to load. Shelter dogs (and cats) need your help!
Â
Â
As much as I’d rather just post about art and all the good things that are happening, our furry friends are in crisis. Just received the following message and there are more animals in the shelter today than ever.
MESSAGE FROM ANIMAL SERVICES June 2, 2009
* Our average intake is 2500-3500 but for the month of May, 4000Â animals were admittedÂ
* The greatest number of animals at any given time in the shelter was 467, but today we housing 565 animalsÂ
* We ran out of cages and are now putting together hurricane cratesÂ
* Please help us (even an hour or two will help) spot clean in B, C and adoptions and assist adopters-we are drowning, short staffed and really need help asap-this is a crisis!Â

There are literally thousands of animals lost or abandoned in Miami-Dade every year. Many of them are injured and need critical medical care. All of them need caring, loving families. Animal Services, the dozens of animal rescue organizations, veterinarians and individuals all over South Florida (and the world) are working to educate people and help as many of our furry, feathered, scaled friends (little angels in my opinion) as possible. This all takes time, money and mountains of compassion, patience and education.
When you purchase any of the ‘Art For The Animals’ products, 50% of the profits are donated to helping animals (and the other 50% helps the artist pay her bills and keep creating new works to help even more animals!)
