Another New Beginning – Snowbird in Reverse?

So much to sort out. Antique Oak Cabinet, paintings, furniture, books, yard and garden stuff, Steinway Piano, Pfaltzfraff brown drip pottery… feels like tons of stuff all for sale this weekend, Sat/Sun. Nov 10-11 in ESTATE SALE – so I can start over – again 😉

In case you have not already heard, I will be leaving Miami before the end of November. This was not an easy decision and I do realize that I while I’m finally doing the snowbird thing, I’ve somehow gotten it backwards!

I’ll be moving to Narrowsburg, NY, a tiny village at the narrows of the Delaware River about 100 miles northwest of NYC. This is the town I grew up in and the main reason I’m going there is to help my sister with the care of Mom, who is 87 and requires 24/7 care due to series of strokes and other complications.

The bright side is that I’ve been missing the mountains all year long and the idea of cross-country skiing again is absolutely delightful! PLUS, Narrowsburg, while still a rural, small town kind of place, has become a well-known art community. I’m hoping to find or create my own niche there and eventually to get the snowbird thing going in the right directions.

Before I can leave, I must cull my belongings – a personal choice for this chapter of yet another new beginning. So, if you’re in the Miami area, my “Estate Sale” is on Saturday and Sunday, November 10-11, 9 am to 4 pm each day. Here’s a link to the list of most of the items I’ll be selling. I want to travel light (not counting the furry felines) who will make the trip with me 😉

Flower of Life connections and creative inspiration

I’ve been thoroughly entranced with Flower of Life throughout this year and when I think back, this has been with me forever. Flower of Life is the ultimate representation of the powerful, core elements of life.

When you can truly know the visible and underlying structures of our universe, Flower of Life is the basis of source energy that connects every thing we can see and imagine: tangible physical things, thoughts, relationships, events. Flower of Life is smaller than the smallest known element and is capable of expanding into entire universes – to infinity and beyond. Every structure of sacred geometry can be found by connecting points within the Flower of Life. This is my current favorite aspect of it. I anticipate a long and progressive relationship with this powerful energy and know it has many more secrets to share. It is a process of learning, accepting and cultivating the properties that are aligned with the work I love and using the energy of Flower of Life to create and share life stories. It connects every thing and every one.

We are only limited by our beliefs. Imagination and focus are key elements to be all we desire. Our ultimate, true power lies within our hearts and our thoughts. I’ve had FOCUS as my personal keyword for several years. It continues to challenge and remind me to stay on the path that is the most joyful and inspiring one for the highest good of all.

I have so much in my head as I write this, but want to keep these posts somewhat focused and hopefully interesting. Your comments are always welcomed especially because our relationships are vital to the expansion of who we are all becoming.

And… of course I have new Flower of Life designs to share 🙂

Catnap in the Garden

FAIL missed 2 days of 30 day blogoff challenge #SMCSFBlogOff

However, I’ll make up for by sharing a new image of Oreo, our first Florida rescue cat, who will turn 9 years old this month.

One of the first art exhibits I participated in when we moved to Florida in 2003 was the holiday event at Cauley Square. Oreo was a tiny, scared kitten that had been dropped off to fend for himself. He was beyond scrawney, but very hungry and willing to come out of hiding to eat just the small crumbs of food that my daughter Jenna, was luring him in with. He devoured the crumbs and became the first of our tribe of 7 rescue cats that now rule my morning and evening rountines.

Morning coffee with the kitties under my favorite garden trees is the best way to start any day!

Here’s another Oreo pose… across the table watching, waiting for another crumb from any thing a human is eating. He has a healthy appetite and is an excellent sleeper 🙂

 Happy Birthday Oreo!

Paint with all the Colors of the Wind

I’ve always loved this song, Colors of the Wind and I’ve always loved nature 😉

Colors of the Wind” is a song by American recording artist Vanessa Williams, from Disney’s 1995
animated feature film, Pocahontas. It was written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.
Originally recorded by American singer and actress Judy Kuhn in her film role as the singing
voice of Pocahontas, “Colors of the Wind” served as the film’s theme song.
Williams’ version of the song was released on May 23, 1995 as the lead single from the film’s soundtrack.
A pop ballad, the song’s lyrics speak of respecting nature and living in harmony with the Earth‘s creatures.

The Lyrics:

You think I’m an ignorant savage
And you’ve been so many places
I guess it must be so
But still I cannot see
If the savage one is me
How can there be so much that you don’t know?
You don’t know …

You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name

You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You’ll learn things you never knew you never knew

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they’re worth

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends

How high will the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you’ll never know
And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon

For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind

You can own the Earth and still
All you’ll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind

Where is Orchid Angel now?

It’s always charity event season here in Miami and as an artist, I receive dozens of requests from all over the country to donate art or my handbags to all kinds of worthy causes. I’ve become much more selective over the years after experiencing a variety of unprofessional situations and attitudes. It makes a tremendous difference when the organization is professional and shows their appreciation for the time, materials and creativity an artist puts into a work of art. The official letter thanking each donor for their contribution is pretty standard and it makes a great impression when I am also invited to be a guest at the event, but getting personally introduced to the winning bidder creates the most rewarding experience of all because charity event patrons often become collectors of the artist and look forward to seeing more of their art at future events.

This is a major benefit of the dynamics of cultivating donors and collectors. It’s about building relationships and communities. It is about everyone winning on all levels. The charity raises money to support their projects, the patron not only buys the painting that generates the sale, they get something unique and beautiful for their home or office and the artist gets recognition and ideally, a new collector.

When I think about my Orchid Angel I often wonder where if she is hanging on someone’s wall that truly appreciates her nurturing, peaceful energy. I hope so. On the other hand, she could be stuffed into a storage closet with unsold auction items. If that’s the case, I’d love to reclaim her!

Rainbow Sisters

Rainbow Sisters - diversity of life on planet Earth

Resurrecting a derivative image which represents the feminine energies of our planet. It is based on an original pastel drawing that I did many, many years ago which has long since been misplaced/lost over many moves and life chapters.

Rainbow Sisters expresses unity in diversity; it is ultimately about our global transformation as ‘one’ mutually supportive community of beings where all life is honored, respected and valued. It is about living in harmony with all people, all things and accepting that we are all one magnificent, divine beeing expressing millions of variations of the possibilities of life.

Rainbow Sisters is available on Journals, cards and on a variety of custom products and print sizes. Contact me HERE if you would like information on custom sizes and products.

VIP meetings and meanings

Very important possibilities… I posted a teaser line and an image of one of my favorite Seeds of Intention on my Facebook page this morning just before I headed to Ft. Lauderdale for a VIP meeting. It is the kind of meeting that you know will change the direction of your life story in a big way.

I’m still not ready for full public disclosure but do want to say how important it is to pay attention to your thoughts and feelings. I truly believe we create our own stories – even by focusing on what it is that we do not want. If you know anything about the universal law of attraction and the underlying mathematics of our world, you understand that everything is energy and levels of vibration. If you are worrying or thinking about how much you don’t want something, you are sending out signals that vibrate with the energy of what you do NOT want and will get more of it. The universe does not differentiate between like or dislike energy. It aligns the vibration level of thoughts with the equivalent vibration on the physical level.

I have not always been aware of this and can see where the thoughts and feelings I’ve had in the past have created unwanted experiences. I’m a fan of Abraham-Hicks and Mike Dooley’s teachings. Both focus on the power of positive intentions. I am now, consciously setting intentions to create a story of the life I do want, of experiences and relationships that are exciting, joyful, creative, prosperous and expansive.

Throughout this year (2012) many AHA moments have caught my attention. I have always been fascinated with geometric shapes and that led me to read and study sacred geometry; which led me to the flower of life. I was hooked on this seemingly simple pattern and began drawing and painting it for days on end. I created a collection of images and titled it the Seeds of Intention. This attracted the interest of several people who began sharing even further information. Eileen Seitz, an amazing artist and friend here in Miami sent links to a book on “The Ancient Flower of Life” by Drunvalo Melchizedek and from there my curiosity took over and I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of hours reading and watching youtube videos on as many interpretations and theories about the functions and purpose of this all-encompassing pattern. It is found in cultures throughout history and around the world. The same exact pattern.

I have another deadline tonight so will finish for now with one of my Seeds of Intention images. As you view this, concentrate on one thing you do want in your life. Imagine that you already have this experience and notice how you feel. You are connecting the image with the energy of what is wanted. This Seed of Intention was created as visual channel to reinforce the vibration of your intention.

Contact me if you would like information on how to create your own Seed of Intention or if you would like to purchase one my new Seeds of Intention collection. (There are currently 9 images in the collection. I’ll have them available online later this month)
