On April 7, 2009, South Florida artists gathered at Windisch-Hunt Fine Art Gallery in Coconut Grove for the first Miami Art Marketing Salon. This is a nine session course with materials provided free of charge by Alyson Stanfield, Art Biz Coach and author of I’d Rather Be In The Studio, the artist’s no-excuse guide to self-promotion.
South Miami artist and handbag designer, Debra Cortese had participated in one of Stanfield’s online marketing courses and was so impressed with the material that she made the commitment to facilitate this course for fellow artists that are interested in promoting their work and careers. The Miami Art Salon was filled to capacity on the first day and is no longer accepting registrations for this term, however, Cortese is already planning another Art Marketing Salon sometime in the fall of 2009, and she is putting together the outline for an Art Licensing workshop.
